About the Box


Long Road CrossFit North features:

  • 5,000 sq. ft. workout floor
  • 1,200 sq. ft. Olympic lifting area with 2 lifting platforms
  • 2,200 sq. ft. artificial turf section that used for multiple sports as well as training
  • 500 sq. ft. air-conditioned athlete’s lounge
  • We are currently running under the PushPress operating system

FAVORITE LONG ROAD MEMORY: 
There are so many over the last 8 years it’s hard to pick one.  There have been quite a few proposals (which is always awesome, we love the love), Jordan’s Journey was an unbelievable feat of community support for one person, and the day that we moved into our current facility has to be number one.  That night we completed week one of the CrossFit open until about 7-8pm, then the whole gym stuck around in the pouring rain and rallied together to take everything apart to get everything moved, it was an amazing experience!

WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I love seeing people win at life, taking control of your health and wellness to help live your best life is what it’s all about and I love being a part of our members’ journeys!

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES: 
Your goals are exactly that, every single person in class is working out for a different reason with different goals. Some want to compete, some want to run faster, lift heavier, get their first pullup, or simply live an active life with the people they love.

Looking at where your neighbor is in life is the same as looking at someone in class and comparing yourself to their level of fitness.  Stay in your own lane, control what you can control and enjoy the never-ending pursuit to getting better at life.

FAVORITE LONG ROAD MEMORY: 
I cannot pick one, I love them all (Not to be cliché).  I love the atmosphere of 5:00 am, I love watching people cheer someone on when they finish their workout, I love seeing couples and families push each other to be their best.  I absolutely LOVE our community and how we all come together when someone needs something.  Fitness is just the bonus to what we get to do every day.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO: 
There is nothing better in the world than to give!! That is why I do what I do.  Nothing fills my heart more than being able to be a part of a weight-loss journey, overcoming fears, gaining strength, and so much more!!

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:  
Get your own jump rope.

Jordan’s Journey, not only because I met my husband there, but also it was just such proof of the power of community!

WHY I DO WHAT I DO: 
I know that the community I have found through CrossFit has made me better and I want to make sure that the community is the best that it can be in return. Some people do that by being awesome athletes, but I had a calling to do that from the perspective of a coach.

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:  
If you buy in, this will change you mentally more than it will change you physically. Leave your negativity at the door, if you don’t have a growth mindset, let’s build one, and make this the best hour of your day. Change the mentality that treating yourself is about eating crappy food, buying some material thing, and getting your nails done. Treat yourself to a healthy lifestyle and you’ll be treating yourself for the long run!

FAVORITE LONG ROAD MEMORY: 
This is tough because there are so many.  My overall favorite one, if I have to pick, is Jordan’s Journey Competition.  Seeing the whole CrossFit community rally around one of our athletes was so awesome to see.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO: 
CrossFit has done so much for me physically and mentally and I want to be able to share that with others anyway I can.

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:  
Train today so that you can train again tomorrow.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO:
I do CrossFit to stay in shape for my job because my life depends on it. I also do it for the sake of being healthy and seeing the new limits I can push towards. 

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:
Do not compare yourself to others. Everyone comes from a different walk of life…it’s you against you. “It’s your fitness!”

Anytime we’ve had a carry-in and did fitness before hand haha. Bonding with everyone together is always a memorable time.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO: 
I’ve always loved fitness and watching people get healthier and achieve their goals is an amazing thing to be a part of.

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:
Don’t compare yourself to those around you. Don’t think you suck because you’re not RXing everything. You have no idea how long someone has been into fitness or how short. Maybe they have an injury, maybe they’ve had years of gymnastics training. Everyone around you is putting in the most effort they have. Some days it’s less and others it’s more. So, stay in your lane and do your best with what you’ve got in the tank and be proud of yourself for showing up and doing the work.

FAVORITE LONG ROAD MEMORY:
I’m new on the block, but already my favorite moment was watching so many members come cheer and support their friends during the CrossFit Open and Quarterfinals!

WHY I DO WHAT I DO:
I do what I do because I enjoy creating an environment of positivity which allows people to feel edified, encouraged, and motivated for the hour they get to spend with me. It’s my passion to educate others on health and fitness and show them how to be the best version of themselves right now!

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:
Commit to 6 weeks for you and I promise you will continue to come not for me or the workout, but because you have friends that want you here!

FAVORITE EXERCISE:
Believe it or not, there’s a heck of a lot of crossover when you practice Crossfit and Yoga.  For me personally, my favorite Crossfit movement is the back squat.  Mobility is one of my strengths: and it’s really satisfying to add weight and drop the booty to the heels. It’s basically garland pose on steroids. 😎

FAVORITE LONG ROAD MEMORY:
That one time that Nate broke down and let us listen to Britney Spears radio to make it through an 100/80 Cal assault bike ride……I’m thoroughly convinced that a proper hair toss and shoulder shimmy can get you through just about anything!

WHY I DO WHAT I DO:
We humans move about life at warp speed most of the time.  Rarely do we take the time to breathe deeply, let alone show kindness to our bodies.  Providing a safe space for my yogis to move mindfully, to recover, and to rest…..that’s why I do what I do!  The dancing and stretchy shapes are just an added bonus! 😊

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:
I tend to enjoy cheesy metaphors…..so bare with me.  Flowers don’t think about the ones next to them, they just bloom!  When we move our bodies, whether it be through Yoga or Crossfit, we’re all on our own journeys.   When in doubt, do what feels good, listen to your body, and just do you, boo! I’ll be right there to cheer you on!

I coach because I like helping people get better and I like making sure the people in my class are laughing and enjoying themselves, even if they’re suffering through a WOD. 

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:
My advice would be to keep showing up. Getting through the doors is the biggest part of the battle and once you’re here, you’ll have a fun time!

Progress doesn’t happen over night. It takes a lot of work and persistence. This is what makes achievements so enjoyable.

My first bar muscle up during the open with the simple cue of wrapping my thumb around the bar.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO:
I do CrossFit personally for my means of staying in shape because I think it is the best way to achieve overall fitness. Every day is completely different style of workouts with different movements so nothing gets boring. I love the competitive side of it that feeds the athlete in me. I also love the numbers involved with doing repeat workouts and lifts to see the progress you’ve made. The community of CrossFit is always great as well. Everyone is always wanting everybody to push to be better than they were yesterday at every box I’ve been to there has only been positive vibes. The reason I chose to coach CrossFit is because I was an exercise science major in college and I’ve always wanted to help athletes become better and achieve all their goals. I love seeing people achieve something they have worked hard for. 

ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE NEWBIES:
Focus on the movements and efficiency first and the rest will follow.
